Kala Upasana’s pravaah takes a new direction – new website for event listings

The drought season in the Delhi dance scene is going to begin soon – summer, when performances are few and far between. But barring these few months, Delhi has a vibrant cultural scene and there are obviously many more events happening than we can hope to attend.
Many of the invitations I get feature young dancers and artists, and I’m always wondering how they can get some visibility and more audiences, even if I can’t cover their performance. To help with that, we have taken a humble initiative and started a website dedicated to listing events that are going to take place. I get invitations to mostly classical dance events, so it will list mostly classical dance events, but also any others I know of – music and other arts, classical, folk and popular.
It’s called Kala Pravaah, and the address is simple. Just remove ‘blogspot’ from this blog’s address, and instead of Kala Upasana, you get Kala Pravaah – www.delhiculturecomment.com. Our listings begin from the apt occasion of World Dance Day with the Natya Vriksha World Dance Day celebrations. These will take place on the weekend before the actual World Dance Day, which is April 29, and will feature workshops, talks and classical dance performances by young dancers.
The website will provide details of each event and performer (as far as possible) as well as news from the world of the arts. If you are a performer or artist and would like to tell us about your events so that we can list them, please send a mail to arorashveta1806@gmail.com – or message me if you already know me.
And if you are an arts enthusiast or dance lover who’d like to know about interesting upcoming events, please do check out our website often!
